New ways & means of training for the social inclusion of two vulnerable groups
1. Increasing language guides for blind or visually impaired individuals to serve as language tutors:
- Enhancing and expanding the current model using the design thinking approach, focusing on feedback information and self-assessment-based education.
- Presenting a vision for a new specialization for visually impaired individuals, including its scope, required predispositions, and key competencies.
- Training initial instructors for further pedagogical and methodical education of new language guides.
A Language Guide serves as a language teacher and socio-cultural mentor, introducing refugees to a new culture. He or she explains cultural phenomena, facilitates understanding of differences, and motivates language learning.
2. Increasing the employability of migrants trained in language and culture:
- Providing language and cultural assistance.
- Equipping students with skills for independent language exploration and utilizing language learning strategies in diverse real-life scenarios beyond course completion.
- Establishing an intersectoral ecosystem to effectively support marginalized groups.
The Final Report of the LANGUIDE project has received a very high evaluation score (92/100) from the Polish National Agency (FRSE) in February and was also recognized as a Good Practice example within the Erasmus+ Programme. On behalf of ECWT and its members we express our warmest congratulations to the LANGUIDE Polish – Ukrainian Project Team for their ambitious and persistent work!
A big thank you also to Enrique Varela Couceiro, Spain (between 2008 and 2022 President and since 2022 Honorary President of Fundación Tecnología Social – FUNTESO) for his guidance and support throughout the project.
