Project Details

ECoVEM (project Nr. 620101-EPP-1-2020-1-BG-EPPKA3-VET-COVE) is funded by ERASMUS+ Programme with an overall aim to establish a transnational cooperation platform for Centers of Vocational Excellence in Microelectronics to tackle today’s fast-changing world challenges such as e.g. digitalization, Artificial Intelligence, green technologies, gender equality and technology, integration of migrants.

The project itself builds on previous projects and existing models of education/business and sector /skills knowledge alliances in the field of microelectronics and establishes and develops a sustainable platform of CoVE to link local, regional and European VET providers in microelectronics with industry leaders and key policy stakeholders at National and EU Level. ECoVEM contributes to sustainable VET governance at national and EU levels through the involvement of policymakers in VET and employment, social partners, industrial associations, and companies representing the microelectronics sector across Europe.

The ECoVEM project is highlighted as one of the good examples of the Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) – a European flagship initiative to strengthen and develop Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Europe. CoVEs are not just training institutions, but collaborative networks of local and international partners that respond to the evolving requirements of learners, businesses and communities.

ECoVEM Meeting and Conference

Between 29-31st of May ECWT hosted three milestone events of one of the key EU Knowledge Alliances projects: ECoVEM – European Centre of Vocational Excellence in Microelectronics in Oslo. On the 29th of May 39 participants from 8 countries ( BG, BE, CY,DE, ES, IT, FR NO) participated in the transnational partner meeting going through the last half year plans of the project with a focus on exploitation, impact measurement and sustaining of the growing ECoVEM Community.

On the 30th May ECWT in partnership with the University of South-East Norway and the University of Oslo (UIO) organized the Conference: “The Norwegian Perspectives in the European Microelectronics Future” which attracted 80+ leading representatives of the Norwegian microelectronics ecosystem and the event was labeled by Electronikknett the Nr. 1 voice of the sector as the >> Most Important event of the Year.
