Youth show great openness in exploring new professional fields and feel welcome!

About 5,200 boys and girls confirm the effect of the action days and Girls’Day/ Boys’Day on their career choices. This is an important result of the pre-post survey for the first time used as an instrument for measuring the direct and long-term effect. Following the action days, more than 50 percent of the questioned girls declared themselves in favor of professions in which women are most underrepresented. That’s 18 percent more than before the Girls’Day.

“We are often asked whether a single day really can make a difference when it comes to the career plans of children and adolescents. Based on our results we can now say: Yes, definitely! Girls’Day and Boys’Day allow girls and boys to experience careers beyond gender stereotypes positively” explains Lore Funk, Scientific Consultant at Boys’Day and Girls’Day.

The overall result of the pre-post survey after the third round of interviews will be available early in the year 2017th.

Final results are only available in German following this link.
