INTERA Technology Park
INTERA Technology Park becomes the latest National Point of Contact for ECWT in Bosnia
INTERA Technology Park was established in 2011 upon the initiative of three entrepreneurs from Mostar. It was created as a result of the real need for technology-oriented, developmental, and innovative projects and a qualified and educated workforce that will be competitive in domestic and foreign markets. The staff of INTERA foundation, five full-time employed, has the experience and qualifications in business management, project management, product development, CNC/CAD/CAM technologies, IT technologies, and consulting for Start-up businesses.
The INTERA TP has established a combined business development facility, an innovation center with elements of a technology park at the Southern industrial zone of the City of Mostar (Herzegovina) branded as “INTERA Technology Park” (INTERA TP) consisting of the following elements:
- Business Incubator for start-up companies (including existing technology-oriented companies).
- Training and Event Centre for multidisciplinary training in technologies and business skills (encompassing dedicated training center for advanced metal processing technologies) and various business/technology networking events.
Business internationalization services encompassing Herzegovina Business Showroom (exhibition space with the leading products of companies in Herzegovina), access to Enterprise Europe Network, and soft-landing assistance for foreign companies. INTERA TP is an official member of Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), the largest network to support SMEs in the fields of international business cooperation, innovation, knowledge, and technology transfer as well as participation in EU programs.
Premises of INTERA currently amount to over 2500 m2 consisting of offices (ranging from 10 to 75m2), and a variety of meeting/conference/IT training rooms (capacities from 10 to 300 seats).
In regard to access to a qualified female workforce with e-skills: 33% of the graduates at the 8 largest engineering faculties of the 4 universities in BiH are women (413 students out of 1251). In SMEs women represent 36% of their workforce and 73% of the women employed work in technical positions.
What is the event
The official announcement of the launch of ECWT´s new N-PoC in Bosnia Hezegovina takes place in connection with the official visit of the delegation of the Norwegian Ministry for Foreign Affaires led by Olav Reinertsen, Head of the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) Secretariat at the European Commission.
Two INTERA employees will function as contact persons for the ECWT BiH N-PoC:
Meliha Gekic Leric is a Project and Business Incubator Manager at INTERA Technology Park. Economist, worked in a sector for support of SMEs in Bosnia and Herzegovina for more than 10 years, certified trainer for trainings “Start your business” and “Improve your business”, BIP (Business innovation program) methodology. Worked as a manager of Guarantee fond for SME for eight years. Worked with local and international donors, writing and implementing several projects related to economic development and employment generating, worked as a consultant for different organization such are EU, USAID, COSPE, WYG Group, Handicep International, SERDA, NERDA, EURELSMED project etc.
Mateja Bošnjak has a Master’s degree in Sociology from University of Split, Croatia, focused on research with an experience in research of youth unemployment and war consequences. She is engaged as Business Incubator Manager Assistant at INTERA Technology Park since December 2015. She works on preparation and implementation of project proposals focused on youth entrepreneurship, female entrepreneurship, startups and youth education programs. She also assists on organizing various events for entrepreneurship promotion including two Startup Weekends.
