ECWT is putting a strong emphasis on supporting the innovation of female talents in Greece!
In 2014 ECWT was in collaboration with The General Secretariat for Gender Equality of the Hellenic Ministry of Interior and then State Secretary Vasso Kollia, the initiator and one of the key partners for the Grand Coalition for Jobs National Coalition pledge “Women and Girls Go Digital” – launched under the Greek EU Presidency the 4 April 2014 in Athens. The pledge was renewed last year under Digital Skills and Jobs Initiative of the European Commission.
Since 2016 ECWT is the provider of the transfer of knowledge to Democritos, The General Secretariat for Gender Equality of the Hellenic Ministry of Interior, CreThiDev, and SEPE in the EEA Grants financed project: “Innovation and Employability of Women in Greece”. The final conference of the project was organized by Democritos on the 2nd of March in Athens with 150+ participants.
After the welcoming words of the present Secretary-General of the Ministry Fotini Kouvela, Dr. Georgios Nounessisi, the President of NCSR Democritos three high-level panels covered the latest development in regard to women´s employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation in Greece. Thereafter some good examples of start-ups of the Greek female talents were presented, as e.g.
Anna Kassimati and ISMOOD is a rapidly growing social media analytics firm that has won several awards for e-innovation since 2011 – http://www.ismood.com/
Vivian Karavia produces and markets through NOSTIMO hand-harvested sea salt – http://nostimosalt.com/. The first e-commerce online platform for unique handmade items in Greece is called jamjar, created by two young Greek women Vera Papangelopoulou and Eva Epitropaki. The website’s only condition is for the handmade creations to be original and aesthetically pleasing. Jamjar is catered to independent craftsmen, inviting them to open their own e-shop within the platform and boost their sales by promoting their brand name and developing parallel networks of clients.

Mamasflavors – run by Maria Monastirioti will gather and provide online shopping services for the products of women’s co-operatives all around Greece. As of 2017 the Greek partners and ECWT are taking their collaboration one step further to launch a Business Innovation Center for supporting the female talents in Greece in starting up and growing their tech enterprises.
